Why is this child screaming because his banana is broken when he specifically asked us to cut it? Why does “put your shoes on” work perfectly on Tuesday and cause a complete system crash on Wednesday?
Welcome to Les Petits Bugs.
That is where the name comes from: those small moments when something does not quite go to plan and, as parents, we try to understand why. Not to “fix” our children, obviously. More to debug everyday life with them.
There are no perfect parents here and no miracle methods. We observe, we look, we try things. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they really do not. Then we try something else.
The Les Petits Bugs families
Les Petits Bugs began with Marie, mum to Gabriel and Angelina. She reads a lot about parenting, tries a lot of things and shares the small shifts that help in everyday life. She also talks constantly with other parents. Over time, some began sharing their own stories, tricks, failures and discoveries too. Little by little, they became the other parents of Les Petits Bugs.
Camille is Malo’s mum. He is nearly three and “I do it myself” is a regular soundtrack at home. Getting dressed, shoes, potty training and leaving the house can all turn into big questions about independence.
Nora is Iris’s mum. Iris is three and a half, knows what she wants and especially what she does not want. Their stories often involve boundaries, negotiation, big feelings and the famous “why?” questions that are not always easy to answer.
Julien is dad to Oscar, four and a half, and Alice, two. Two children at different ages often means two urgent needs at exactly the same time. Their stories involve siblings, jealousy, sharing and the delicate art of not being able to split yourself in two.
And then there is Élodie, mum to five-year-old Louise. With Louise come different questions: school, friends, promises, responsibility and negotiations that can become surprisingly sophisticated.
The stories we share come from those ordinary moments parents tell each other about: a sentence that changed the mood, an idea tried in a rushed morning, a reaction nobody expected.
Something may work brilliantly for one child and not at all for another. That is exactly what interests us.
Because our children are not problems to solve.
But trying together to understand their little bugs can make family life a lot easier.
